Ringdown is a driver check-in service operated by Phineworks Inc. (“we”, “us”), which provides this service under the Ringdown name. Phineworks Inc. is the legal entity behind the Ringdown brand, the ringdown.app website, and the toll-free number our text messages are sent from. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

When a driver checks in, we collect the information entered on the check-in form: name, carrier, truck number, trailer plate, load/PO number, and destination. A mobile phone number is optional — we only collect one if the driver chooses to give it, and we only text it if the driver also ticks the separate opt-in box described below.

How we use it

This information is used solely to operate the facility’s check-in queue and, for drivers who opt in, to send transactional text messages about the delivery: a check-in confirmation and a notification when the load is ready (1–2 messages per visit). We do not send marketing messages, and we do not sell or rent personal information. Information is visible to the dispatch staff of the facility the driver is delivering to.

We do not share mobile information or text-messaging opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used only to deliver the transactional messages described above through our messaging provider (Twilio).

Text messaging

Text messages are optional. Checking in does not require them and does not sign you up for them. The check-in form has a separate checkbox, unticked by default, labelled “Text me when my load is ready”. You are checked in either way: if you leave the box unticked, dispatch will call you or come to your truck instead, and we send you nothing.

If you do tick that box, you consent to receive transactional text messages from Ringdown about that visit only — a check-in confirmation and a load-ready alert, about 1–2 messages per visit. We never send marketing or promotional texts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply HELP for help. We record the time you ticked the box as our record of consent.

Retention and your choices

Check-in records are retained to operate the service and produce aggregate wait-time statistics. To request deletion of your information, contact us at the address below.
